Jacky Ho, Senior Vice President, Deputy Head of Department, Christie’s Asia Pacific commented: Exceptional quality, diversity, and strong pricing underpinned the art we presented, and this enticed collectors throughout the region, notably from mainland China, with flourishing activity from Southeast Asia. There was great energy in the saleroom across the Evening and Day Sales, we welcomed new buyers, and had a crowd of over 7,000 visit our preview at The Henderson, proving it’s been a strong move to align our sales with Hong Kong Art Week. The season doesn’t end for us here – we are now gearing up for our Shanghai Evening Sale on 3 April, and we look forward to continuing the momentum.”

Hong Kong – On 28 and 29 March, for the first time during Hong Kong Art Week, Christie’s presented four live sales of 20th and 21st Century Art at its Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson in Hong Kong, achieving a sale total of HK$841,653,720 / US$108,689,815. The market responded positively to the expertly selected lineup of Asian and Western art. There was solid engagement from collectors both in-room and online – contribution from online bidders was up over 50% versus Spring 2024, and over 5 million tuned in to the live stream of the sales. Christie’s Spring Season in Asia continues in Shanghai with a 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale on 3 April, meticulously assembled to appeal to Chinese collectors.
