Hong Kong - This May, Bonhams Wine & Spirits will present the first-ever Middle Eastern private wine collection to be auctioned in Hong Kong. Featured in the live auction The Oasis Collection & The Vault of Legacies (24 May), it will be joined by rare Burgundies and Italian gems from an esteemed Asian cellar. A parallel online sale, The Oasis Collection & Grand Cru Collective (14–27 May), offers additional highlights.

For spirits enthusiasts, Spirits of Distinction: Whisky & Cognac Rarities (16–27 May) features rare Japanese whiskies, high age-statement Scotch, and iconic Cognacs including the Rémy Martin Louis XIII Black Pearl. THE OASIS COLLECTION & THE VAULT OF LEGACIES

For the first time, a private Middle Eastern wine collection, The Oasis Collection, will be auctioned in Hong Kong. Comprising over 13,000 bottles, this assemblage reflects not only the collector's refined palate and dedication to provenance but also the rarefied conditions under which these wines have been maintained. Brought in and stored under the meticulous care of MMI, the exclusive fine wine importer in the Middle East, the collection has been professionally transported and housed in temperature-controlled conditions.

It stands as atestament to the sophistication and growing influence of the region'soenophilic culture. Part of the collection will be offered in the 24 May live auction, with additional lots available online in The Oasis Collection & Grand Cru Collective , from 14 – 27 May.

Another private collection in this sale is The Vault of Legacies, meticulously curated over decades by a discerning Asian collector who sourced only the finest wines in pristine condition. Among the ultra-rare bottles is a parcel of 43 lots from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti , predominantly acquired through the UK's official importer and shipped exclusively for this auction. Other highlights include pristine full original cases of d'Auvenay Mazis-Chambertin 1996, Leroy Chambertin 2001, and Armand Rousseau Clos St. Jacques 1999 — each acornerstone for serious collectors. Beyond Burgundies, the collection also features one of the most comprehensive arrays of Gianfranco Soldera and Masseto, showcasing the depth of Italy's finest.

SPIRITS OF DISTINCTION: WHISKY & COGNAC RARITIES

16 – 27 May ︳Online Auction

Leading the Japanese whisky offerings is Hanyu Ichiro's Malt "Four Aces"—Ace of Spades, Ace of Hearts, Ace of Clubs, and Ace of Diamonds, estimated at HK$360,000 – 550,000 .

The Hanyu distillery, established by Isouji Akuto, ceased production in 2000, leaving behind around 400 whisky casks. Ichiro Akuto, his grandson, secured these remaining casks and personally selected and bottled them for his iconic "Card Series," released between 2005 and 2014, which have since become some of the most sought-after Japanese whiskies ever produced. Another standout is a selection of high age-statement Scotch whiskies , led by the Brora 40-Year-Old, estimated at HK$110,000 – 160,000 , an ultra-rare release with only 150 decanters produced and is one of the highest age-statement Broras ever made.

Another highlight is the Springbank Millennium Collection (25-, 30-, 35-, 40-, 45, 50-year-old), estimated at HK$220,000 – 320,000 . Beyond whiskies, there is also a selection of Cognac from one of Hong Kong's most prominent collectors, including the Rémy Martin Louis XIII Black Pearl, estimated at HK$90,000 – 140,000 . This rare blend was crafted by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau and drawn from the historic "C100-46" tierçon, one of the oldest casks in Rémy Martin's reserve.

Limited to 1,498 decanters, its design honors a16th-century flask acquired by Rémy Martin in 1815, embodying the pinnacle of the house's artistry.
