RM Sotheby’s Kicks Off 2025 Auction Season with $31.6 Million in Sales and a 95% Sell-Through Rate

The 2025 auction season began at the Biltmore in Scottsdale, Arizona, where RM Sotheby’s achieved more than $31.6 million in sales during a single-day auction held as part of Arizona Car Week. RM Sotheby’s 27th annual Arizona auction achieved $31,634,160 in total sales during the event. 95% of lots were sold, with bidders from 19 countries competing for a diverse selection of cars. Several lots set new auction records, including the 1931 Bentley 8-Litre Convertible Victoria by Murphy ($3,195,000) and the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale ($786,000).

Held at the iconic Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, the event achieved an impressive 95% sell-through rate, totaling $31,634,160 in sales. Bidders from 19 countries participated, setting multiple auction records across adiverse selection of cars, from pre-war classics to modern supercars. Highlights The 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta ‘Tour de France’ by Scaglietti sold for $3,772,500, highlighting its significance as one of only 28 single-louver, covered-headlight examples.

Delivered in aunique Oro Chiaro over Bordeaux leather combination, it boasts arich history, including a3rd-in-class finish at the 1960 1000 KM Buenos Aires and awin at the 1958 Aosta-Pila Hillclimb. Previously part of renowned collections like Pierre Bardinon’sMas du Clos, it remains ahighly coveted rally and concours car. The 1931 Bentley 8-Litre Convertible Victoria by Murphy , aone-of-a-kind masterpiece and the only 8-Litre Bentley with American custom coachwork, achieved arecord-breaking sale of $3,195,000.

With awell-documented history by marque expert Dr. Clare Hay, this exceptional Bentley was formerly owned by noted connoisseur Don Weber. It features an impeccable concours restoration by Bentley specialists R.C.

Moss and retains its original body, chassis, engine, gearbox, and all major components. Truly one of the ultimate “W.O.” Bentleys, this unique Full Classic stands as atestament to bespoke craftsmanship and historical significance. The 1984 Audi Sport quattro , arare Group Bhomologation special, sold for $758,500, surpassing its pre-sale estimate of $375,000–$475,000 and further proving the appeal of Group Bcars.

Known as “The F40 Killer,” it was ordered by Audi Club of North America founder Frank Beddor Jr. and raced extensively by Steve Beddor, setting records at the Virginia City Hill Climb. Retained by the Beddor family since new, it is arare and significant piece of motorsport history. The 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale achieved aworld record price of $786,000, far exceeding its pre-sale estimate of $400,000–$475,000.

Finished in arare Blu Tour de France with NART livery stripes and Giallo Modena brake calipers, it features optional exposed carbon fiber elements. With just 5,106 miles and atan interior with special-order blue trim, this like-new example stands out as one of the most collectible modern Ferraris.
